Dear No-Know,

I am tempted to say, "The opposite of down," but I'm not in the mood for cliches and have always detested the practice of defining a term by what it is not. That's like saying that a slug is "The antithesis of a whale." Not particularly helpful. So let me say this:

Up: A condition of being at actual or perceived height above other subjects or objects; frequently rumored to be followed by a sometimes fast and painful down.

And now I have the song "Mr. Fly climbed up a tree" in my head. Pardon me if I stop blogging to go sing. Yes, I do know every verse by heart.
