Seeking the Slither

Human beings love slugs, though many of them may not realize their deepseated need for the mucous we secrete so freely. Why, just the other day, I had slithered up onto the hood of a car and found myself taken for a ride (a short one, fortunately, so the engine didn't have time to heat up, nor the winds of speed blow me away). As I bounced down the road, the car was approached by an ambulance heading the opposite direction. No sirens, so it was either returning home or simply out for a drive. But the man behind the wheel, oh, he was craving some good muck. I could tell. Despite his clean-cut EMT shirt, he wore a hint of a self-satisfied smile...

...and held one finger firmly planted up his nose.

I tell you, you humans want slime. I'm not sure, however, that they want a visit from that particular EMT.
